The Icons of Campbeltown series pays tribute to the Campbeltown community that ensured Glen Scotia prevailed through history. Taking our inspiration from the Market Cross – a historic community meeting point for celebration and storytelling, with a series of saints and beasts carved into its stone face – each release recalls a tale of local community spirit.
Each of the releases in our series takes inspiration from one of the many of saints and mythical beasts carved into the face of the cross. To bring these to life in a truly breathtaking way, we have partnered with esteemed artist, Joel Holzman (Lucasfilm, Marvel, Disney and more), to produce the design that adorns the packaging for the series. It’s a challenge that he has fully embraced.
“I’ve always had a fascination with ancient times, traditions and beliefs. Getting to know the story of this project was inspiring.”

The Icons of Campbeltown collection provide rich inspiration for our choice of liquid with each release. This limited edition, 14 Year Old whisky is medium peated and has been finished in ex-Barolo red wine casks for six months. Inspired by the prevailing spirit of Campbeltown - where fires once threatened the town's distilleries - this whisky reflects the resilience and unity of the local community.
The smoky, medium-peated character of this delicious Single Malt Scotch whisky is expertly balanced by the rich, red wine notes developed from the Barolo cask finish, bringing delicious red berry fruits to compliment Glen Scotia’s distillery character. The swirling smoke and rich red colour are evocative of the fire-breathing dragon slain by Saint Michael on the Campbeltown Cross.

Ocean spray, red berries, peat smoke
Palate
