Our annual Limited Edition Festival Single Malt Scotch Whisky bottlings are intriguing, bold, and appeal to those looking to be wonderfully surprised. The 2025 Festival Release is no different. At Glen Scotia we only distil peated spirit for 6 weeks a year, making this release that extra bit special.
Starting its journey in first fill bourbon barrels, the distinctive maritime character unfolds with notes of creamy vanilla overlaid with rich peat smoke. The finish in Ribera del Duero red wine casks transforms the once tropical notes into red ripe fruit, juicy blackberry with a whisper of liquorice. The smoke intertwines with the fruit, wrapping each sip in a luxurious, velvety finish that lingers on the palate.

Opening this dram is an experience! Nose hits you with classic notes of Campbeltown from the off! It’s got a lot happening. Palate: wow taste explosion with fruit smoke peat , very rich whisky that’s moving out of the bottle very quickly.

Glen Scotia are absolutely killing it with their releases. Whatever has changed at GS it is paying dividends. The 2025 Festival edition is no exception. What an amazing blend of smoke, peat, ginger, caramel with a fruitiness from the wine finish. Great job👍

I’ve missed out on the last 2 festival releases and was determined not to miss out this year. The ordering process was very simple and with the added bonus of free delivery in the UK. Delivery was really quick and arrived in perfect condition-the box comes wrapped in Glen Scotia branded tissue which adds a really classy touch. I was not sure what to expect of the whisky but my first impression is excellent-the elements are in perfect balance and it has none of the harshness you sometimes get with younger spirit at higher ABV. I’ve never been disappointed with a festival release and this bottling is no exception. Do yourself a favour and pick up a bottle-you won’t regret it!

Nose: Unlit cigars, a vegetative note, sea spray, dry hay, medicinal, stiff honey and a subtle butter fudge. The addition of water brings out a little more sweetness and the whisky takes water well. Taste: Medicinal peat smoke, maritime, cured fish - possibly anchovies, peppery heat verging on chilli flakes. Quite dry, more so than the nose suggests. Oily, buttery mouthfeel. Finish: Long, peaty, smoky, dry and spicy. Complex and delicious! It’s another winner IMHO 👏

I was initially tempted to purchase this festival malt on the basis of the video posted which went into the depths of the malt. Upon receiving it, my partner and I tried different varieties of straight, water, and ice. I, upon second tasting, settled upon two ice cubes to 50 mls of whisky. This brought out the mild peaty taste and really emphasised the smokey overtures. I am consequently delighted with the purchase and would recommend it to any connoisseur of peated and smoked malts.

Heavenly! I was hoping for a peated dram from this year's festival release, after enjoying the 2022 edition so much (my favourite thus far), and this does not disappoint: multi-layered, complex and perfectly balanced...ticks all the boxes for my palette. Glen Scotia is fast becoming my favourite distillery.

I have not opened the bottles yet. I bought one as a gift, and when I spoke to the person they had already bought the bottle for their collection.

Another amazing release from Glen Scotia. As a fan of peated whiskey, this was a real treat, rich smokey and complex

Lovely colour and on opening a wonderful aroma of red wine. Taste is full on with a sweetish start followed by a spicy 'explosion' finishing with a wonderful Ribero del Duero red wine taste....... definitely worth getting. I've had a few of the Campbeltown Festival special editions and I think this is the best so far. I'm in Campbeltown in May and will be sure to call in at your shop (did the distillery tour a couple of years ago and had a great time !!)

My first impression of the Glen Scotia 2025 Campbeltown Malts Festival edition is that it's a great little dram. The golden amber colour of the whisky has a tinge of pink. On the nose I pick up gentle smoke, alongside the salt with the subtle hint of caramel and a custard cream biscuit. On my uneducated palate, bramble jam followed by a hit of chillies and clove, all the while peat smoke builds and lingers well into the finish joined there by a taste of raspberries. A dram to enjoy on clear starry nights. Finally, I have not given it 5 stars as it doesn't quite live up to the 2024 edition one of my all time favourites.

Very nice, better than the last couple of years in my opinion.

Truth be told I've not actually opened it yet, it could be weeks or months before I do.However, it's a Glen Scotia, and if the last 2 Festival Malts are anything to go by, I'm expecting great things..😋

Really good dram as always, not that far removed from the 14 year icon dragon edition, but the move from medium to heavy peat is noticeable. The sweetness on the palate and finish, that creeps through the cigar, leather, peat is what makes it, like chewing red liquorice and cherry cough drops. Only gone 4 out of 5 as I think I prefer the 14 year icons which was my whisky of the year last year.

Sweet, didn't find it really smokey but it gave a lovely delayed salty aftertaste. A friend from Taiwan seemed partial to it too.

Amazing dram. Great maritime flavours with thick velvety peat flowing through. Softened nicely with the fruit from the wine barrels. Unexpectedly powerful dram from an Islay drinker. Superb
